Important Information
Please note updated parking procedures for all Chickasaw residents attending this event, including vehicles, golf carts & UTV's.
Arrive early to get best seating. Bring chairs/blankets to sit on & flashlights.
It is strongly encourage to attend in your Golf Cart or UTV for the closest parking.
Volunteers will be stationed at all designated parking areas to assist guests and help direct traffic flow.
Please review the attached parking map carefully and park only in the appropriate designated areas.

Ignite your patriotic pride at our “Spirit of ’76” Golf Cart Parade!
In honor of America’s 250th Anniversary, deck out your cart in bold red, white & blue and roll through the community in a high-energy tribute to 1776. Following the Firecracker 5K, the celebration continues as we parade our American spirit to The Overlook—where Red, White & BBQ is waiting!
Decorate your golf cart, bring your patriotic spirit, and join the parade lineup — or grab a seat along the parade route and cheer on the fun! Spectators are also invited to gather at the Overlook to enjoy the festivities and celebrate together.
Participants are invited to enter the Golf Cart Decorating Contest for a chance to win fun prizes and community bragging rights! SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
10:00 AM – Parade Participant Check-In
Decorate your golf cart and meet at the Front Gate. Volunteers will assist with lineup and staging.
10:30 AM – Parade Begins
The parade departs from the Front Gate, travels through the community, and ends at the Overlook Deck. Note: Residents not attending are kindly asked to avoid the Front Gate area during lineup and departure.
10:30 – 11:30 AM – Parade Viewing
Residents are invited to watch the parade from their driveways or along side streets throughout the route.
11:15 AM or After – Gather at the Overlook
Spectators are welcome to wait at the Overlook Deck for the parade’s arrival. Please plan to arrive before 11:15 AM or after 11:30 AM to avoid congestion.

12:00 PM – Awards Ceremony

CELEBRATE AT THE OVERLOOK
The Overlook Restaurant & Bar will be open from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM, serving a special “Red, White, & BBQ” menu. Open seating available.
Firecracker 5K
Kick off the 250th anniversary with a bang! The Firecracker 5K literally starts with thousands of firecrackers exploding at the start line. Held at the entrance of Chickasaw point, one of Upstate South Carolina's most beloved hidden-gem lakefront communities, this race is open to everyone!
The course takes you along a picturesque, tree-lined out-and-back route featuring a sweeping view of Lake Hartwell and the Chickasaw Point Golf course. Your friends and family are welcome to cheer you on along the course or join you in the run/walk.
All finishers receive an official commemorative 250th anniversary race medal and a Chickasaw Point 250th celebration shirt.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE:
Walk, Run or Cheer - this event welcomes all ages and abilities.

Prizes will also be awarded for the closest to the pin on holes #4, 8 and #17.

Full Moon Paddle & Float
Join us for a special evening on the water—everyone is invited to come out and celebrate the beautiful May full moon, known as the Flower Moon! Just show up and enjoy the experience.
NEW START TIME!
Gather at the beach no later than 8 PM.
Floaters: Feel free to stay in the beach area.
Paddlers: Depart at 8:15 PM (right along CP shoreline to waterfall)
Return by same route (~9:15 PM)
If you live on this route, feel free to join in with us as we pass your dock or greet us as we pass by.

Safety Guidelines:
Water safety is always important—especially at night. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources requires all paddleboard and kayak users to follow United States Coast Guard safety regulations. Each participant must have:
A white light
A wearable flotation device on board
A whistle
A limited supply of extra lights and whistles will be available; however, it is each participant’s responsibility to comply with all SCDNR guidelines.
Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note: In the event of inclement weather this event will be rescheduled for Sunday, May 3rd.
